“Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in these last days, You are showing signs and wonders, in nature. Lord, You are doing this to get man to repent, return and be restored to You. We, as Your church, must be ready, to receive into our fellowship, the people, who will turn to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”
Acts 2:19-21 I WILL SHOW WONDERS IN HEAVEN ABOVE AND SIGNS IN THE EARTH BENEATH: BLOOD AND FIRE AND VAPOR OF SMOKE. (20) THE SUN SHALL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS, AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AND AWESOME DAY OF THE LORD. (21) AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS THAT WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.’
We are seeing that the Lord is doing great signs and wonders in the heavens and in all of creation. These are caused because of man’s disregard for his responsibility to rule creation in the image of God, but these are also ways by which God is speaking to humanity, in the end times.
God is using these extraordinary events as a warning bell that humankind and the church, should prepare, to seek God. If we do not heed the warning of the Lord, then the end will come and there will be no more time to repent, return and be restored to the Lord.
These astonishing experiences in creation are a demonstration of God’s great love for man and creation. He does not want anyone to perish but have everlasting life.
Malachi 4:1-6 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. (2) But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. (3) You shall trample the wicked*, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts. (4) “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments. (5) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. (6) And he will *turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.
The church needs to realise its role to be God’s vice-regents over all His creation. We bring the dominion of God into all our spheres. We are the church, which is scattered in the world.
The message of the church, in the world, is being amplified by the signs and wonders that the Lord is doing in creation.
II Peter 3:3-7 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, (4) and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” (5) For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, (6) by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. (7) But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Those who mock the ways of God, wilfully, forget that it is God who has created all things by His word. These are the enemies of God. God is longing for them to repent and return to Him but when they remain obstinate in their self-sufficient ways, then they will be judged in hell.
Nahum 1:2-8 God is jealous, and the LORD avenges; The LORD avenges and is furious. The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies; (3) The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked. The LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet. (4) He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, And dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither, And the flower of Lebanon wilts. (5) The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt, And the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it. (6) Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks are thrown down by Him. (7) The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. (8) But with an overflowing flood He will make an utter end of its place, And darkness will pursue His enemies.
God is jealous because God is the husband and mankind is His bride.
Therefore, when the bride rejects her husband (God) but chooses to go after another, (the devil), God’s heart is broken and He is jealous. God will avenge in His fury. This is the warning of the Lord, which Peter is explaining to his audience.
Even during the frightening catastrophes that happen in creation, the Lord will be a stronghold for those who trust in Him.
The church must be in tune with the ways of God.
