“Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the fact of the resurrection and how this has blessed us immensely. Lord, we pray that we will live in the fullness of the blessing of resurrection. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”
Acts 2:24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
We are witnesses to Jesus because of His resurrection.
Hebrews 2:14-15 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, (15) and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Resurrection takes into consideration that death has been defeated.
We were in the state of death and we had no solution to get out of the prison house of death. Jesus died, was buried and he rose again to deliver us from the bondage of death.
Is there any way that we can place value on the freedom that God has provided us, by His resurrection?
Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
This is the solution that Jesus provided us. We died with Him, were buried with Him (baptism) and we have risen with Jesus. We walk in newness of life because it is the resurrected life of Christ that He lives out from within us. This is our witness. We do not witness ourselves but we witness Christ living in us.
Romans 8:11-14 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. (13) For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
It is the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who lives in us.
Now, we cannot go back to the old life and seek to please God by the flesh. By the flesh, no one can please God.
It is mandatory for every believer in Christ, to live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. This is not an option, for if we live according to the flesh, we will die. The Holy Spirit empowers us to put to death the deeds of the body. We, therefore, live the life of the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of resurrection. Those led by the Spirit of God, are the children of God.
Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, *who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Jesus has risen and He is interceding for us. What is His intercession for us? He is interceding that we will not live by the flesh but by the Holy Spirit and put to death the deeds of the body. He is interceding that we will live life in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
I Corinthians 6:14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.
It is because of the Holy Spirit of resurrection, we have the assurance that we will be raised up with Jesus, to reign with Him in power.
I Thessalonians 1:10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
Living in the Holy Spirit of resurrection is the assurance that we will be delivered from the wrath of God, which is to come on all those who have not surrendered their lives to Christ.
The Lord is giving a full and final blow to death, which is because of His resurrection. This is the assurance that we have of eternity, which is because of His resurrection.
Hosea 13:14 “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.”
As we await the age which is to come, we live out the life of the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of resurrection. If we live according to the flesh, we will die but if we put to death the deeds of the body, by His Holy Spirit, we will live, living as His witnesses.
