God’s message communicated by His church through the Holy Spirit – Acts 02:01-13 – Filled with the Holy Spirit – Bible reading: Isaiah 59:19-21

21st Jul 25 | 12:10

“Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You fill us with Your Holy Spirit and our tongues are released to communicate Your heart to the nations. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. The Holy Spirit gives us utterance. The Lord is revealing His concerns, for our times, to His church. We are to be His spokespersons/ambassadors. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in and through His church, as the Spirit gives us the utterance of God. The Holy Spirit gives us utterance so that we can articulate, bring clarity, and give form to the deep anguish of the heart of God. This is the release of the tongue through His Holy Spirit.

II Samuel 23:1-2 Now these are the last words of David. Thus says David the son of Jesse; Thus says the man raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel: (2) “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. This is the testimony of David of God’s work in his life. God’s word was on his tongue. Isaiah 59:19-21 So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (20) “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the Lord. (21) “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”

When the enemy comes in like a flood, we, His church, are expected to raise the standard or the banner against the devil and tell him to halt. He cannot enter, for we have established the rule of God in our specific circles, as His church. The church is to pull down the strongholds, the systems, and structures that the enemy has set up. He has set up these systems because the church of Jesus, which was to be the instrument, through whom the Holy Spirit would give utterance, has failed. The enemy is free to operate because there is no standard against him. Micah 3:8 But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin. The church is to raise the banner against the enemy. We are to declare to the people their transgression and their sin. We are to set up the benchmark of justice, truth, and righteousness, in our societies and in our cultures. Is that how we are as His church? It is shameful to talk of what takes place amongst us, as His church. Will we repent at once, seek His forgiveness, be restored to Him, and then accomplish the task that is expected of us, as His church, for our times?

II Peter 1:20-21 “knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, (21) for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”. This is prophecy. Holy men of God spoke as they were given utterance by the Holy Spirit. When we yield our tongue to God, God communicates His word, which is a prophecy, for our times. It is God’s word that will bring healing to our hurting world. We are to pull down the strongholds and chase out the enemy. As the church begins to speak, the church must be conscious that this is the guarantee that has already been placed in us. All that we need to do is to exercise the assurance of the Holy Spirit, who is in us, by releasing our tongue to Him.

I Peter 1:10-12 “Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, (11) searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. (12) To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into”. Throughout history, the communication of God has been taking place through the prophets of God, by His Holy Spirit. Over time, the Lord is working out His purposes. The angels are the witnesses, who can see the complete picture, for they were there from the beginning. The Lord is accomplishing a mammoth work over generations. It is the Holy Spirit, who communicates the mind of God to His church.

“It is for us to yield our tongue to the Holy Spirit, for Him to bring us to be a part of the message of God, for our generation.”
