“Lord Jesus, we desire to be instruments in Your hands to bring Your healing to people and bring them into Your habitat. In Your name, we pray. Amen.”
Acts 3:7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
The miracle of God’s healing, in the life of the lame man, took place at that very moment, when Peter took him by the right hand and lifted him up.
The Lord does bring physical healing and deliverance from evil spirits, in the very same moment, when we reach out and touch people. He is able. Nevertheless, we must be careful not to insist that this is how it will happen all the time. As we have discussed, God’s ways are far higher and different from our ways.
Luke 13:11-13 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. (12) But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” (13) And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
God sends out His word and with our touch, He brings healing into the lives of people. Psalms 107:20-22 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. (21) Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! (22) Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.
When a person believes and comes to Jesus, He or she comes into the habitat of God. There they are healed and restored. Coming to God is complete healing. He is our strength and our high tower.
Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
This is the sure healing from the Lord. This experience of healing from the Lord is instantaneous. This does not mean that all our troubles will disappear but we will know that we are in the shelter or habitat of God. This is where we have His Shalom.
This deliverance and rejoicing that the Lord provides are immediate. Psalms 27:5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
Since the Lord God is our refuge and strength, we do not just come to Him to tide over our crisis but to remain in Him in a relationship of trust. Psalms 62:7-8 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. (8) Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
We can be sure that the lame man was not only healed of his lameness but he was healed in his whole person. He was now in the habitat of God and He was trusting God. We see him later standing before the elders of the Jews and he was bold, along with Peter and John, to be a witness to Christ.
Acts 4:13-14 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. (14) And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
When we are in the habitat of God, our limitations of ill health or physical challenges, do not restrict us. Habakkuk 3:19 The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.
The lame man was not only healed on his feet but he was healed in his spirit. He now leapt like a deer. We know of such examples. Each of us is a testimony of how the Lord has taken us from our pits and He has made us be His witnesses, though we are conscious of our boundaries.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
The way the Lord gives healing to us is glorious. He takes away all our infirmities and He heals all our diseases. Psalms 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
Knowing the ways of God, we as His church must move out to reach out and bless people. The need around us is great. We have much to do in the little time that we have here on earth. Let us make the best of the opportunity to give God’s healing to people, by bringing them into the habitat of God.
