07 – 16Apr2023 – *Many will be added to His church* - _Acts 05:12-16_ - MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS IN HIS CHURCH - Bible reading: _Psalms 126:05-06_

“Lord Jesus, we trust You and we look up to You to add many into Your church, for this is Your promise. In Your name, we pray. Amen.”

*_Acts 5:14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,_*

As we continue to consider the life of the early church, one miracle that stands out is that people were being added to the church, daily. We have understood that this was not a push to increase numbers in His church. There was a genuine passion in the church that people must be saved and not perish but at the same time, the cost of being a disciple was made known to all.

Though, on one side, people did not dare to join them, people were increasingly added to the Lord, in multitudes.

We see this wonder continuously taking place. _Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and *that day about three thousand souls were added to them*._

_Acts 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And *the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved*._

*_Acts 4:4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand._*

*_Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith._*

_Acts 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, *they were multiplied*._

_Acts 9:34-35 And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed." Then he arose immediately. (35) So *all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord*._

_Acts 9:40-42 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. (41) Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. (42) And it became known throughout all Joppa, and *many believed on the Lord*._

Signs and wonders took place and this was followed by many being added to His church.

What was taking place in the early church was a fulfilment of prophecy.

_Isaiah 44:2-5 Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. (3) *For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring; (4) They will spring up among the grass Like willows by the watercourses.' (5) One will say, 'I am the LORD's'; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob; Another will write with his hand, 'The LORD's,' And name himself by the name of Israel.*_

We must always keep in mind that the word of God is like a hammer that breaks the hardened hearts of people and draws people to Him. _Jeremiah 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?_

When God’s word goes out, it does cause people to turn to Him. _Isaiah 55:11-13 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (12) "For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (13) Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the LORD for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off."_

As those who sow the seed of God’s word into the hearts of people, we must remember that God will draw people to Himself, through His word. *_Psalms 126:5-6 Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. (6) He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him._*

The Lord is promising us that in the latter days that people will come weeping and they will seek the Lord, to be joined with Him. Multitudes are being added to His church and it will increase at the end of the age.

*_Jeremiah 50:4-5 "In those days and in that time," says the LORD, "The children of Israel shall come, They and the children of Judah together; With continual weeping they shall come, And seek the LORD their God. (5) They shall ask the way to Zion, With their faces toward it, saying, 'Come and let us join ourselves to the LORD In a perpetual covenant That will not be forgotten.'_*

```May we as His church expect many to be added to His church.```
