Luke 13 1-9 Repent and bear fruit 03 A fruit bearing life

📖 Luke 13:1-9
9th Mar 26 | 13:18

*A fruit bearing life* _Luke 13:1-9_

_Luke 13:6 He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none._

God has chosen us to bear fruit. Good fruit, much fruit and fruit that remains. Fruit bearing is to live out the Christ life, which is to love one another as He has loved us. _John 15:16-17 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. (17) These things I command you, that you love one another._

If our life is not fruit bearing then we do not have His life in us and the tree has to be cut down and thrown into the fire. _Matthew 3:10-12 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (11) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (12) His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."_

It is God’s word that must bring change in us and cause us to be fruit bearing. The meaning of this is that we must allow the word to penetrate us and we must surrender to His word by the surrender of our will. Our will must continuously become His word. _John 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (8) By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples._

God’s word needs to get into hearts and lives, on an everyday basis. _Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little."_

*Thought to ponder*

```Repentance and conversion is from a barren life to a fruitful one.```
