Luke 15 1-7 To seek and to save the lost - part I The lost sheep 08 Carried by God
30Jan2020 - *Carried by God* - _Luke 15:1-7_ - Bible reading: _Isaiah 46:3-4_
_Luke 15:4-5 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? (5) And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing._
We have titled the 15th chapter of Luke as *To seek and to save the lost*. This is the heart of God and this is how our heart needs to be too. The Lord was deeply concerned for the Pharisees and the Scribes for they were not in tune with the heart of God, which is to seek and the save the lost.
When we understand the heart of God, we realise that He is God, who seeks us and finds us. Not only are we found by God, we are carried by Him.
_Deuteronomy 32:11-12 As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings, (12) So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him._
_Isaiah 40:11 He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young._ He knows our challenges in life and He gathers us up and holds us close to His bosom. He knows our struggles in life and accordingly takes us through our challenges and into victory.
_Isaiah 46:3-4 "Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: (4) Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you._ Right through and all through life, He carries us. We can be absolutely certain that He will always be there for us. Even in the most frightening of circumstances, He will hold us and lead us. We can be cast on Him.
_I Peter 1:5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time._ This ongoing, life time experience of being kept by God, through faith in Him, is the revelation of God, through us, at the end of time.
Our task, therefore, is to stay rested in Him. _I Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you._
*Thought to ponder*
```Just the thought of being carried by God…is like a wave of God’s refreshing, washing over us.```
