Luke 13 22-30 The narrow door 08 The ongoing life in Christ
21Oct19 - *The ongoing life in Christ* - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _Romans 8:2-4_
_Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able._
We need to understand this process of entering through the narrow gate.
_Romans 6:3-5 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?_ When we came to Christ, we were born of the water and the Spirit. Being born of the water, is to be baptised with Jesus in His death. We identified with His death. We were also buried with Christ. _(4) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death,_ Our old man, our old nature was buried with Christ. We arose with Christ and so identified with Christ in His resurrection. _that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,_ We therefore identify with Christ in His death, His burial and His resurrection. This is our constant, everyday experience. This is the narrow gate that we enter in and pass into His kingdom.
_II Corinthians 4:10-11 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,_ This identifying with the death of Jesus is an always experience. _that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body._ As we identify with the death of the Jesus, we are also able to manifest the life of Jesus. _(11) For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh._
Since this experience is not happening in the life of so many of us, Christians, what manifests from us is not the life of Jesus but it is our self that manifests.
The resurrected life of Jesus in us is the life of the Spirit. _Romans 8:2-4 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death._ We were under the old law of sin and death but we were set free by Jesus. How did that happen? _(3) For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,_ The law of Moses could not enable us to live the life of God, for we were under the law of sin and death. Jesus came, in the likeness of our flesh but lived out the righteous requirement of the law by not living for His self but for the will of the Father. Therefore, He condemned sin in His flesh. He is now making available to us His victorious life, by His Holy Spirit. _(4) that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit._
*Thought to ponder*
```Is the life of Christ manifesting in you?```
