22Oct19 - *Let us not be like Esau* - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _Hebrews 12:22-29_

_Luke 13:25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,'_

Soon the Master will arise and shut the door and then it will be too late. We were not prepared through those three preparations and we were not entering through the narrow gate. We have no excuse now. We cannot now say that we did not know, what was required of us to enter into His kingdom.

Seek the Lord, while He may be found _Isaiah 55:6._ Behold now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation _II Corinthians 6:2._ Since we have heard His voice, let us not harden our hearts _Hebrews 3:7-8._

Esau was careless and took his birth right casually. Later when he wanted to inherit the blessing, it was rejected for he had not repented, though he sought for the blessing with tears. _Hebrews 12:17._

In the same way we too are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken - _Hebrews 12:18-29._ What we are receiving is not what it was like at the time of Moses. That experience indeed was frightening but what we are receiving is far more glorious than what the people of Israel experienced.

_(22) But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, (23) to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, (24) to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (25) See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, (26) whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO HEAVEN." (27) Now this, "YET ONCE MORE," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. (28) Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (29) For our God is a consuming fire._

*Thought to ponder*

```May none of us have the same end as that of Esau.```
