Luke 13 22-30 The narrow door 11 Familiarity is no guarantee
24Oct19 - *Familiarity is no guarantee* - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _Matthew 7:21-23_
_Luke 13:25-26 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,' (26) then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.'_
There are many amongst us, who are familiar with the Bible, with the songs, with the format and style of worship but none of those things will guarantee us an entry into His kingdom. The Lord is wanting the prophet to cry aloud and not to spare but warn the people of their familiarity with the things of God but not truly obeying Him. _Isaiah 58:1-2 “Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (2) Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God._
God’s heart breaks that we profess to know Him but do not actually follow Him. _Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work._
_Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,_
_Ezekiel 33:31 So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain._
Am I a person having a form of godliness but denying the power of God? _II Timothy 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!_
*Thought to ponder*
```Will we fall before Him in complete surrender of our lives to Him?```
