25Oct19 - *To be known by God* - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _John 10:27-30_

_Luke 13:25-27 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,' (26) then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.' (27) But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'_

Twice in the above passage, we see that Jesus is saying, _“I do not know you…”_ That is a frightening statement to be heard from our Lord, on the day of reckoning. None of us should be found there that the Lord says that He does not know us.

We therefore must ensure that we are known by God and in the process, we too come to know Him. We must first love Him, which is obedience to His will _I Corinthians 8:3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him._

To be known by God we must depart from iniquity and we must love the way of righteousness. _II Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." Psalm 1:6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish._

The Lord also knows those who place their trust in Him and are not placing their trust on anything or anybody else. _Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him._

When we are known by Him, He owns us and He calls us, “His sheep”. _John 10:27-30 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (28) And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (29) My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. (30) I and My Father are one."

When we are known by God and we know Him, we have eternal life and no one can snatch us out of the hand of Jesus and no one can snatch us out of the hand of God, the Father. _John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent._

When our only passion in life is to be known by God and then the matter will not arise that He will say, “I do not know you”.

*Thought to ponder*

``Is, ‘To be known by God’, your priority and passion in life?```
