05Aug2020 - *Arise, go your way* - _Luke 17:11-19_ - SURRENDER, THANKFULNESS, GRATITUDE AND WORSHIP OF GOD 12 – Bible reading: _Matthew 5:13-16_

_Luke 17:19 And He said to him, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well."_

The Lord was now addressing the Samaritan leper. He was commissioning him to arise and go his way. He was cleansed of his leprosy and he had come to Jesus to surrender, to be thankful and grateful and to worship the Lord. This was the great change that had happened to this man.

This was the change that he had to now carry as he went back to his life. We, as the Lord’s unprofitable Doulos, are all commissioned by Him. _I Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; (10) who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy._

We are commissioned to go into the world to demonstrate and proclaim the praises of Him, who has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.

_Philippians 2:15-16 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, (16) holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or laboured in vain._

The cleansing that the Lord has given us and our surrender, our gratitude, our thankfulness and our worship of Him, is our light that we hold out to a crooked and perverse generation. This was the ministry of Apostle Paul. His goal was to raise such blameless and harmless children of God, who will display the cleansing of God in their circle of influence.

The Lord told us to be the world’s salt and light. _Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. (14) "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. (15) Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. (16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven._

We are sent into a world of darkness, corruption, decay and sickness. That is our target audience. God’s goodness to us does not stop at the healing and the blessing that He gives us. We are healed, cleansed and made whole so that we will go out there to a hurting world and bring God’s healing into our circumstances.

If there is darkness in our world and it is increasing by the day, then let us be conscious that our task is that much greater and that much more urgent today than it was yesterday.

As we go into the world, carrying God’s cleansing within us, we will face trials and tribulations from the world. The evil one, who is the ruler of this world, is angry with us when we bring God’s light into our dark world. _Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God."_

This is our role as Christ’ ambassadors

*Thought to ponder*

```The church is called to be God’s instruments of healing to our nations.```
