Luke 13 22-30 The narrow door 14 Fulfilling what is expected of us to do
27Oct19 - *Fulfilling what is expected of us to do* - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _Matthew 8:11-12_
_Luke 13:28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out._
Many of us are concerned as to what basis God will use to judge us. We do not want to be thrown out into outer darkness. We are therefore arguing as to what is the minimum expected requirements that we need to meet, so that we will not be thrown out.
Friends, it is not for us to be concerned as to what will qualify us and what will cause us to miss the admission requirements into heaven. We can leave the judgement into the safe hands of God, with whom there is no partiality or shadow of turning. Ours is to focus on what the Lord is expecting of us to do and leave the judgment to God.
_Matthew 8:11-12 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. (12) But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."_ We find here that Jesus is saying that the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. This surely applies to us. What do we need to do?
We are all gathered in as in a dragnet, which is cast into the sea and all kinds are gathered in. Many seem to have gathered in, into the family of God but then there will a separation that will take place. The separation is between the wicked and the just. Justification before God is by faith in Jesus. Nevertheless, our faith in Jesus, must now result in us to be so under the control of Christ that it is His character and nature that flow through us. _Matthew 13:47-50 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, (48) which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. (49) So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, (50) and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."_
_James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also._
The life of Jesus flowing through us, makes us His hands and feet, in order to minister to the needs of people around us. Just claiming that we have faith in Jesus but the kind of faith, which has not transformed us to become the very extensions of His nature, is not faith at all. _Matthew 25:44-46 โThen they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' (45) Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' (46) And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."_
*Thought to ponder*
```We are His workmanship created for good works.```
