Luke 17 11-19 Surrender, Thankfulness, Gratitude and Worship of God 13 Guaranteed cleansing in Jesus
06Aug2020 - *Guaranteed cleansing in Jesus* - _Luke 17:11-19_ - SURRENDER, THANKFULNESS, GRATITUDE AND WORSHIP OF GOD 13 – Bible reading: _II Corinthians 12:8-10_
_Luke 17:19 And He said to him, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well."_
The Samaritan leper was commissioned to go his way in order to declare the cleansing that is guaranteed in Jesus. He was already cleansed of his leprosy but there was a different cleansing that this man was now experiencing. This cleansing was the cleansing of the presence of Jesus in him.
Friends, this is the wellness that we must be pursuing after in life. The wellness which is a result of Christ in us. Jesus is our treasure. _II Corinthians 4:6-7 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us._
As we trust the Lord, He does heal our physical and our other circumstantial ailments but it does not always happen. Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh and he pleaded with the Lord three times that it may depart from him. This was the Lord’s response to him. _II Corinthians 12:8-10 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. (9) And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong._
The faith that our Lord longs to see in us is that faith that is expressed in our surrender, thanksgiving, gratitude and worship of God. Even if the circumstances do not change or the physical healing does not take place, we will still surrender, be thankful, grateful and worshipful of God. It is this faith in God that will surely make us well, within.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego expressed this faith in God. _Daniel 3:16-18 Dan 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. (17) If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. (18) But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."_
They knew that the Lord was able to deliver them from the furnace as well as from the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar. At the same time, they also knew that the Lord may choose not to provide the deliverance. Yet, one thing was certain for these three young men, they were surrendered, thankful and worshipful of God, let come what may. Their faith in Him made them well. They were powerful and victorious in a situation of immense pressure and fear.
This is the wellness that is guaranteed for us when we have faith in Him. Faith in Him that is expressed in our surrender, thankfulness, gratitude and worship.
The Samaritan leper was already cleansed of his leprosy and now he was made well because he expressed faith - Wellness is not only physical wellness but wellness comes from within, where we are whole and complete within.
In Christ is our wellness. So, the one goal and pursuit in life is to be found in Jesus. _Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; (10) and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power._
Since Apostle Paul knew that the fullness of the Godhead was in Christ, he made Christ his goal and pursuit in life. _Philippians p 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; Philippians 3:12-15 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (13) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, (14) *I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus*. (15) Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you._
Not only was Jesus his goal and pursuit in life, but this was also Paul’s ministry. His ministry was to present every man perfect in Christ. _Colossians 1:27-29 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (28) Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. (29) To this end I also labour, striving according to His working which works in me mightily._
Faith in Jesus alone is guaranteed to make us well.
*Thought to ponder*
```Have you come to rest in Jesus or are you still pursuing other goals in life?```
