Luke 14 15-24 The marriage feast of the Lamb 09 All should come to repentance
15Dec19 - *All should come to repentance* - _Luke 14:15-24_ - Bible reading: _I Timothy 2:3-6_
_Revelation 19:9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."_
_Luke 14:21-23 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.' (22) And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' (23) Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, *that my house may be filled*._
Jesus was narrating this story of a man, who gave a great supper and invited many. We have been saying that this is about the marriage feast of the Lamb to His bride, the Church. God is inviting all to the feast.
God longs that His house be filled at the feast. God does not want anyone to perish. His desire is that all the world be saved but people have to look to Him and not to any other gods. For no other god or gods can save man. _Isaiah 45:22 “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other._
God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Jesus, might be saved from eternal punishment. _John 3:15-17 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved._
He desires all men to be saved through Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and Man. _I Timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, (4) who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (5) For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, (6) who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,_
God does not anyone to die (to be separated from God). _Ezekiel 18:23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live?_
Jesus is the one, who has atoned for our sin and so men have to receive the atonement of Jesus, personally, by faith. _I John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world._
People must repent and turn to Jesus. _II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance._
*Thought to ponder*
The servant must carry the message of God’s heart to people.
