18Dec19 - *The dwelling place of God* - _Luke 14:15-24_ - Bible reading: _Ephesians 2:15-22_

_Revelation 19:9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."_

_Luke 14:23-24 Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (24) For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' "_

Jesus was narrating this story of a man, who gave a great supper and invited many. We have been saying that this is about the marriage feast of the Lamb to His bride, the Church. God is inviting all to the feast

The Master was sending the servant to go into the highways and hedges to bring people to the feast, for those who were invited were not worthy. This is God reaching us, Gentiles. The Jews, were the ones, who were first invited but they refused. They not only refused but they were against the Gentiles coming into the family of God. There was enmity. The Lord was breaking the middle wall of partition that caused enmity between the Jews and Gentiles.

Yesterday, we began to understand what God has done for us, by examining this passage in _Ephesians 2:11-22_

_Ephesians 2:15-22 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,_ Jesus abolished in His sinless flesh, the enmity.

_(16) and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity._ Jesus put to death the enmity at the cross. When we come to the cross, and receive what Jesus did for us by faith, both Jews and Gentiles are reconciled with one another.

_(17) And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. (18) For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father._ We, both Jew and Gentiles, now have access by the Holy Spirit, to the Father.

_(19) Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, (20) having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,_ The Church of God is built on the foundation of the prophets and the apostles, both the Old and the New covenant, with Jesus being the mid-point, tying together our entire relationship with the Father.

_(21) in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, (22) in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit._ We are now together built as a *dwelling place of God*. The world will then see God with us, in the Church, and be drawn to Him.

*Thought to ponder*

Are we, the Church, drawing the world to Jesus or are we being a hindrance?
