Luke 18 1-8 Persistent prayer of faith 07 He will give us rest
03Sep2020 - *He will give us rest* - _Luke 18:1-8_ - PERSISTENT PRAYER OF FAITH 7 – Bible reading: _Psalm 121:1-4_
_Luke 18:4-5 For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, 'Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, (5) yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' "_
The judge decided to settle in favour of the widow as he did not want to be exasperated by her anymore. How does God consider us and how does He respond to us, when we come to Him with all our concerns?
_Luke 18:7 And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them?_ This is a rhetorical question stated by the Lord to show how totally opposite God’s ways with us are, as contrasted with the unjust judge.
The Lord is inviting us to come to Him with all our challenges. _Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest._
The one who comes to Him, He will in no way, cast out. _John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out._
The one who is broken and crushed, He will not wreck even further but will bring forth justice and truth. _Isaiah 42:3 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth._
The Lord is our deliverer from the most difficult and strong opponent. _Jeremiah 20:11-13 But the LORD is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten. (12) But, O LORD of hosts, You who test the righteous, And see the mind and heart, Let me see Your vengeance on them; For I have pleaded my cause before You. (13) Sing to the LORD! Praise the LORD! For He has delivered the life of the poor From the hand of evildoers._
The Lord is our refuge and our strength. _Psalm 9:8-9 He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness. (9) The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 18:2-3 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (3) I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies._
We live in the time of increased persecution to the church, all over the world. _II Thessalonians 1:6-7 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, (7) and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,_
_Psalm 121:1-4 A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? (2) My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. (3) He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. (4) Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep._
*Thought to ponder*
```Isnt it a joy for us to cast all our cares on Him?```
