01Apr2020 - *Jesus, my very own and I am His* - _Luke 16:1-13_ - Bible reading: _Matthew 13:45-46_

_Luke 16:12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?_

We have been saying that all the money that we have is God’s. We also said that God’s money that He has placed in our hands, has to utilised for His purposes, in His wisdom. This action of ours is not optional but mandatory.

Now, the verse is raising the question as to who will give you your very own. What is our very own? Is there something, which is our very own that we can unashamedly lay hold of? Yes, there is something which is our very own. It is not a thing, it is Jesus. He is the one, whom you and I, unapologetically and boldly declare to the world that we possess and that He possesses us.

Apostle Paul made this declaration. _Philippians 3:7-8 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. (8) Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that *I may gain Christ*_ This is what Paul desires for all of us to have and declare to the world. _Colossians 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: *which is Christ in you*, the hope of glory._

I had said earlier that faith in God is our true riches but faith in God leads us to Christ. When we have found Christ and He has found us, we have well and truly arrived at our destination. Yes, life is not only a journey but life is also a destination. That destination in Jesus. As we live here on earth, we can live as people, who have arrived, as those who have possessed our very own, Jesus, and He has possessed us.

_Matthew 13:45-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, (46) who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it._

All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are in Christ. When we have found Jesus, we have come to the end of our search. _Colossians 2:2-3 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of *Christ, (3) in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge*._

Have you come to your destination, your place of rest? Are you richly satisfied in Christ? Or are you still groping, fretting and worrying?

*Thought to ponder*

```Sadly, many Christians have not come to the place of rest.```
