LUKE 19 11-27 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 04 Revival in the church
12Dec2020 - *Revival in the church* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 4 – Bible reading: _Matthew 6:31-33_
_Luke 19:12-13 Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. (13) So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, *'Do business till I come.'*_
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We live and work with the understanding that we are workers of the kingdom of God, fulfilling His work, with the capital that He has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit._
_ The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into full effect when the Messiah returns. We prayerfully await the Messiah to return, to set up the fullness of His everlasting kingdom, where we will be assigned roles and responsibilities, depending upon our performance here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
_We will rule alongside with Him in His eternal kingdom._
Since our lives here on earth is about His kingdom, it implies that we are not to be worried and anxious about the things of this life, which unfortunately is what the majority of us seem to be anxious about.
We need a complete reorientation, we may call it a revival in the church.
_Matthew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (32) For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things._
The people of the world are anxious about these matters. This is their priority. If the church too, displays the same anxiety for the temporal things of this life, then we have no message to communicate to the world. Actions will always speak louder than words.
The world sees us and they see that we are no different from them. In so being, what we have done is that we have hindered them from seeking God. It is only when they see us living for Jesus and His kingdom, that they will be intrigued and curious to know the Lord of heaven and earth.
_(33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you._
Our heavenly Father knows that we have need of all the material things of life. He is the one, who is responsible to take care of these needs for us. Meeting our needs is not our responsibility at all.
Our responsibility is to be fully engaged in the work of His kingdom, leaving all our concerns into the hands of our Father, the King.
When we live and work for His kingdom... all our needs will be met.
There will never be a shortfall for we are in the service of the King. All things are already taken into consideration and looked after in His kingdom.
How do we work, the work of His kingdom? _I Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God._ All that we do is for His kingdom, for the Lord has invested into us.
We have looked at what is the investment that God has made into each of us. Our jobs, our careers, our homes, our studies are all the places of God’s kingdom. These are not secular or places of the world, these are sacred places, where we work for God’s kingdom.
_Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him._
Our work is done in His name, a name that is higher than any other name. If we live and study and work representing the name that is above all names, can our performance be ordinary?
Is it possible to produce an extraordinary performance in our regular life circumstances? Surely, we can, since our enablement and empowerment come from the Holy Spirit, who is in residence in us.
_Colossians 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, (24) knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ._
Not only are we to excel in all that we do but we also live and work with a joyful attitude, serving others and not ourselves for we work not for men but for God.
Yes, we meet our organisational expectations and deliverables but we see our workplaces as places where we have been given an opportunity to serve our King.
*Thought to ponder*
```The church needs not just a reorientation but a revival, for this was God’s plan and purpose from the very beginning.```
