LUKE 19 11-27 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 05 God desires for man to surrender to Him
13Dec2020 - *God desires for man to surrender to Him* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 4 – Bible reading: _Psalm 2:1-5_
Let us revise our purpose or identity statement.
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We live and work with the understanding that we are workers of the kingdom of God, fulfilling His work, with the capital that He has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit._
_ The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into full effect when the Messiah returns. We prayerfully await the Messiah to return, to set up the fullness of His everlasting kingdom, where we will be assigned roles and responsibilities, depending upon our performance here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
We find that there were two groups of people in the parable. One group were the ten servants to whom the nobleman delivered ten minas and told them, 'Do business till I come.' The second group were his citizens, who hated him.
_Luke 19:12-13 Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. (13) So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come.'_
_Luke 19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.'_
These were his citizens, which means they were obligated to him but they chose to rebel and did not want to be under the rule and authority of the nobleman.
This is the reality of our world. It is a world that is rejecting God. The world, the entire universe, as far as our scientists have been able to discover, and every tiniest detail of this grand creation belongs to God, who is the owner. Man too is a creation of God.
If a person says that there is no God, the simple response is, who made that person to think and even give that person vocal cords, tongue and language to utter and say that there is no God? Yet people feel that they are so intelligent and smart to question the existence of God. Who gave that intelligent man the intelligence to think and consider himself to be so smart?
Man, who is so small, finite and limited has the audacity to question the infinite, inexhaustible and unlimited One, who is the Creator of a creation, which itself defies the intelligence of man.
_Psalm 2:1-3 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? (2) The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, (3) “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us."_
Man is rejecting God aggressively. The world does not want Biblical morality to be anywhere in the conversation. Man thinks that he can solve the crises that are there in our world.
Imagine you were to purchase a kitchen appliance. The manufacturer has given a manual along with the product, giving clear instructions as to how the merchandise must be used. If you were to disregard the operating manual and run the machine in any which you please and the apparatus was to breakdown, and you take it to the dealer asking for a replacement or a refund of money, what do you think would be the response of the dealer?
We understand this very well, but man has chosen to reject the creator, to be in submission to Him and to also cast out the word of God, which is God’s communication to man, on life.
_Psalm 2:4-5 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. (5) Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:_
Since man has derided God, man is in a state of chaos and confusion. Yet man does not want to accept his folly, repent, return from his foolish ways and surrender himself to the Creator.
_John 3:17-20 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (18) "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed._
God did not condemn the world but God provided the way for man to be reconciled back to Him.
Man loves darkness and does not want to come to the light and that is why we see the rebellion of man against God. He who has not believed in Jesus is condemned already and will incur the wrath of God.
*Thought to ponder*
```God is sending us to carry the message of reconciliation to a hard-hearted world that is ridiculing and rejecting God.```
