Fri09Jul2021 - *People who reign with God* - _Luke 22:7-13_ - PREPARING FOR THE PASSOVER MEAL (03)

The Lord longs to see us as families, worshipping Him and that we raise generations that walk in His ways.

We need to seek God’s forgiveness, for many of us have not been intentional in raising our children and our future generations to be a people separated for God.

We have given our children motivations that are worldly and then when they make wrong choices in life, we say that it was the children who made their own choices. Whereas, from the early years of our children’s lives we have not opened their minds to appreciate the concerns of God.

_Luke 22:7-9 Then came the Day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover must be killed. (8) And He sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat." (9) So they said to Him, "Where do You want us to prepare?"_

Jesus became for us the Passover Lamb and He also became for us the unleavened bread, which we consume in order to be separated from the desires of the flesh and be separated unto God.

_Exodus 12:24 And you shall observe this thing *as an ordinance for you and your sons forever*._

This celebration of the Passover festival had to be a generational experience. The details of the Passover feast had to be taught to the families and to the children. This is was the responsibility of each generation to their next generation.

_Exodus 13:14 So it shall be, *when your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What is this?' that you shall say to him, 'By strength of hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage*._

Generations must know, how and why we are a people separated for God. Children must understand redemption and how the Lord has chosen us to be His own special people. This is the responsibility of every home in the body of Christ.

When the children ask questions about our faith and our walk with God, we must take time and effort, and explain to them the things of God.

_Exodus 12:26-27 And it shall be, when your children say to you, '*What do you mean by this service?' (27) that you shall say, 'It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD*, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.' " *So the people bowed their heads and worshiped*._

The understanding of worship needs to be explained to children. Who is God? What has He done for us? Who are we to Him? Why do we need to submit to Him? How we are now a chosen people separated for God? All of these need to be explained to our children.

This is God’s concern. He longs to see if we are training and equipping our next generations of being separated to God.

This is our legacy and an inheritance that we hand over to our generations. The question is, “Are we passing on this great legacy to our generations?”

Sadly, we are losing the very institution of family and home. The matter of viable generations seems to be non-existent.

_Deuteronomy 11:19-20 *You shall teach them to your children*, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. (20) And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,_

We, as parents and grandparents, need to be deeply intentional in guiding our children in the ways of God.

_Psalm 78:3-6 Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us. (4) We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. (5) For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children; (6) That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,_

Generation to generation must pass on the legacy of walking with God and being people separated for Him. This is how we raise up a people for God.

_Titus 2:14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and *purify for Himself His own special people*, zealous for good works._

_I Peter 2:9-10 But *you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light*; (10) who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy._

God longs for us to be His own special people, who will declare the praises of Him, who took us out of darkness and brought us to His light.

_Revelation 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And *have redeemed us to God by Your blood* Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, (10) And *have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth*."_

God longs to raise a unique people, who will be kings and priests, who reign on the earth. This task begins with each of us, as we raise generations separated for God, from our homes.

*Thought to ponder*

```Our homes are nurseries, where we raise giants, who will bring the rule of God, here on earth.```
