Luke 11 27-28 Hearing God's word and keeping it Keeping God's word 10
*Enjoying the blessing of God* _Luke 11:27-28_
To keep the word of God is to bring it into application or the word must be flesh in us, always. This expression of God’s word in our lives must be evident in the way we love and serve people. Loving God and loving people are not two separate laws, they are part of the other. Loving God and loving our neighbour, goes hand in hand _Mark 12:29-31._
_When we look at ourselves as Christ’ disciples, isn’t it shameful to hear and know of, of the acrimony and lack of love that we display between one another? Will we, each of us, repent and in the enablement of His Holy Spirit, reach out to love one another in the body of Christ?_
There is great blessing, when we keep God’s word. Our Lord told us this truth, after He had washed the feet of His disciples. He said, _“If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:17._ The blessing of God is rich and full. _The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22._
To enjoy this sorrowless blessing of the Lord, we must be undefiled in our ways, which is to be separated from the ways of the world. It involves applying God’s laws into our everyday issues that we face. This will require prayer, to discern and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to bring God’s ways to bear on our context. We will need to seek God with our whole heart. If we are half hearted about applying the statutes of God into our everyday affairs, satan will gobble us up into compromising with the ways of the world. Before long, we will be so deeply trapped into problems, we will be wondering, why we are so worried and anxious. Satan will also blind us from coming back to God, rather, we will be trying in our own ways to come out of our troubles and in the process be driving ourselves deeper, into the ways of the world. _Sadly, this is where many Christians are and they are coming to God, only to be extricated from the mess that they have got themselves into but not to seek the ways of God and to apply them into their situations _Psalm 119:1-6/128:1._
_Daniel resolved in his heart that he would not defile himself ... Daniel 1:8._ This is a resolve that is undertaken in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
_I have heard many senior Christian leaders say that it is very difficult to apply the teaching of the Bible into our workplaces, business and in the corporate world. It is indeed very sad, when we hear such statements._ God teaches us to profit. He leads us in our business decisions and policies. When we heed the precepts of God, we will experience His peace, which is like a river and God’s righteousness, as the waves of the sea _Isaiah 48:17-18._
Final blessing: _Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14._
Warning: _"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (22) Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' (23) And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'. Matthew 7:21-23._
*Thought to ponder*
