Luke 11 27-28 Hearing God's word and keeping it Keeping God's word 3
*Indwelt by the Holy Spirit* _Luke 11:27-28_
Mary was just like any of us. She raised a very natural question to the angel. The angel had revealed to Mary the marvelous plan of God for man. How Jesus would bring in the kingdom rule of God here on earth _Luke 1:30-33._
Mary’s question was not related to what God would do, she was operating from the flesh and she raised a very logical question, _"How can this be, since I do not know a man?" Luke 1:34. Isn’t this where most of us are? We operate out of logic, reasoning, our own experience and our own perception to life, even when the Lord is speaking to us and revealing His purposes to us._ Mary was not living from the realm of the spiritual
The angel answered her, patiently, of how the Holy Spirit would come upon her and the Holy One, who would be born, will be the Son of God _Luke 1:35. Our Lord is so patient with us and waits for us and urges us to move from the dimension of living by the flesh, to living by His Holy Spirit._
The hidden mystery of God, which was hidden through the ages, was revealed through Jesus but rulers of the world did not understand this mystery and therefore they crucified the Lord of glory _I Corinthians 2:7-8._
The plans and purposes of God are so huge and big, which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. Yet, God has not kept these mysteries as a secret but longs to reveal them to us. He not only wants to reveal His mysteries to us but He longs that we live our lives out of revelation and not by the flesh. How does God reveal His mysteries to us? He reveals them to us, through His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God and brings them to our understanding and to our application _I Corinthians 2:9-10._
If our life is not being lived out of God’s revelation, through His Holy Spirit, the alternative is that we will be like Mary, asking rational questions and living by the perceptions of the world _I Corinthians 2:12. Praise God for Mary that she moved from living by the flesh to accept what God was doing in and through her, by His Holy Spirit. The result, in a manner of speaking, is God’s (His) story.
_Are we ready to make this big migration, to migrate from living by the flesh to living by His Holy Spirit?_
Living by the Holy Spirit is not just an excellent way to live but if we are not living by His Holy Spirit, we are not His _Romans 8:9._
*Thought to ponder*
```How very sad, that to a large extent, we, as His people, have not harmonised with God, in His plans because we obstinately, remained in the flesh.```
