LUKE 19 11-27 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 09 Multiplication
17Dec2020 - *Multiplication* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 9 – Bible reading: _Colossians 1:9-10_
The process of judgment will begin with His servants, to whom He has entrusted His capital with which they are to produce results for His glory?
_Luke 19:15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading._
Let us relook at our purpose statement.
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We live and work with the understanding that we are servants of the King, fulfilling the creation or cultural mandate, from the seed of the image of God, added with the capital that He has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit._
_The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into full effect when the Messiah returns. As we prayerfully await His return, we reach out to an audience that is rejecting God but with boldness and love._
_In the eternal kingdom of Jesus, we will be assigned roles and responsibilities, depending upon our performance here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
The second element of the cultural mandate is multiplication
*Multiply* This is to *multiply the fruit bearers*. It is about investing in capacity building so that we develop visionaries and workers who have faith in God.
Jesus fulfilled the cultural mandate by multiplying Himself in His disciples.
_I John 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; *because as He is, so are we in this world*._
The Lord’s purpose was to make His disciples be fruit-bearers. _John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and *appointed you that you should go and bear fruit*, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, *that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples*._
The Isaiah version of the Nazarene manifesto, which is what Jesus referred to in _Luke 4_, has the matter of multiplication. _Isaiah 61:3-4 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; *That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified*." (4) *And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities*, The desolations of many generations._
The Lord was always concerned about multiplication. His prayer was for His disciples.
_John 17:8-9 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. (9) “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours._
Jesus was concerned for us that we will overcome the evil one and produce results. The Lord invested heavily in our capacity building.
_John 17:15-18 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. (16) They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (17) Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (18) As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world._
Paul had the same passion to raise fruit bearers.
_II Corinthians 3:2-3 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; (3) *clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us*, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart._
_Colossians 1:9-10 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (10) that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, *being fruitful in every good work* and increasing in the knowledge of God;_
*Thought to ponder*
```Go ye into all the world and make disciples is our commission … not only to serve others.```
