20Dec2020 - *Have dominion* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 12 – Bible reading: _Psalm 8:4-8_
The content of the judgment is clear before us. _Luke 19:15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading._
We are preparing to face judgment. In preparation let us revisit our purpose statement.
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This world is being driven by the evil one through man, who has become his prisoner._
_We, citizens of the kingdom of God, live and work, fulfilling all the elements of the creation or cultural mandate, in the image of God, with the capital that He has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit._
_The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into full effect when the Messiah returns. As we prayerfully await His return, we reach out to an audience that is rejecting God but with boldness and love._
_In the eternal kingdom of Jesus, we will be assigned roles and responsibilities, depending upon our performance here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
We will now look at the fifth element of the creation mandate, which is *have dominion*. Before we consider the fifth element, I would like us to see an interesting feature in the cultural mandate.
Be fruitful and multiply are clubbed together. Fill the earth and subdue it, are linked together. Have dominion, is set apart. There are, therefore, three groups within the cultural mandate. The first being Be fruitful and multiply, the second group being Fill the earth and subdue it, the third being, Have dominion.
_Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "*Be fruitful* and *multiply*; *fill the earth* and *subdue it*; *have dominion* over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."_
*Have dominion* - Having dominion is set apart as this is the overall theme of the cultural mandate. We are vice-regents of God and we are here on earth to bring the kingdom rule of God, in the image of God.
_Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven._
The responsibility for the care of the whole creation has been placed on man. _Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them *have dominion* over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."_
_Psalm 8:4-8 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? (5) For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And *You have crowned him with glory and honour*. (6) *You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands*; You have put all things under his feet,_
_Ephesians 2:5-7 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),_ We were saved in order to sit together in the heavenly places with Christ. _(6) and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,_
This time here on earth is to prepare us for His rule in the age which is to come. _(7) that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
As we take up our positions to bring the rule of God here on earth, we are faced with an enemy and he is holding the people of the world in his bondage. _I John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one._
Satan is able to execute his evil agenda over all of creation since the authorization to rule creation is still with man, (which God has not taken away from man). Since man has come under the control of the devil, he, the devil, is able to execute his will over man and all of creation through man, who has become a puppet in his hands.
_II Timothy 2:25-26 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, (26) and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will._
When we consider the matter of having dominion, we will look into how the Lord has enabled the church to wage war against the powers of darkness and bring the kingdom rule of God here on earth.

```Our enemy knows who we are as the church of Jesus Christ, in waging war against him, but the church has not taken up her position with intensity.```
