_Luke 16:16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it._
People are wanting relief from the symptoms but are not addressing the disease. The disease is man’s rebellion against God due to which we are now enemies to Him and against His kingdom. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit _(Romans 14:17)_
People must know the solution to the disease, which is the death of Jesus on the cross, His burial and His resurrection. It is through belief in what Jesus has done that people will enter into His kingdom, where there is fullness of life.
Satan is our enemy, who has blinded our eyes from knowing our predicament, our disease, and to also not know the solution, which is the cross of Jesus. Our battle is against our enemy, the devil and to resist him and open the eyes of the people. _John 12:31-33 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. (32) And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself." (33) This He said, signifying by what death He would die._ The cross is the solution for man and man needs to know that the solution is available. _John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, (15) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life._
How did Jesus offer us the solution on the cross? On the cross, Jesus became a curse for us. _Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE"),_
What is the curse of the law? The law was good but we could not keep the law and experience the righteous requirement of the law because our flesh was weak. _Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,_ God dealt with our weakness of our flesh by Jesus, who took our sin on His flesh and He condemned sin in the flesh. So, now, when we appropriate what Jesus has done for us on the cross, the stranglehold of sin in our flesh is broken because Jesus has dealt with this problem on the cross.
Today, you and I can reign in life, because we can appropriate by faith what Jesus has done for us on the cross. _Romans 5:17-19 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) (18) Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. (19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous._
Satan is our accuser before God, accusing us that we are succumbing to the weakness of our flesh but we have an advocate, Jesus, who advocates to God on our behalf that He has propitiated or atoned for our sins. _I John 2:1-2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (2) And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down._
We need not live in sin for as we appropriate His death, His burial and His resurrection, by His Holy Spirit, we can reign in life.
