LUKE 19 11-27 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 23 Eyes to see and ears to hear
31Dec2020 - *Eyes to see and ears to hear* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 23 – Bible reading: _Matthew 13:10-16_
Let us understand the judgments of God. His ways are far higher than our ways.
_Luke 19:24-26 “And he said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.' (25) (But they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas.') (26) 'For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him._
_Matthew 25:28-29 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. (29) 'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away._
This rationale seems alien to us, for in our mind we think that the one who has less is the one to whom more needs to be given, and to the one who has, nothing need be given.
To prepare us for the judgment of God let us familiarise ourselves with our purpose statement once again.
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This world is being driven by the evil one, through man, who has become his prisoner._
_We, citizens of the kingdom of God, live and work, fulfilling all the elements of the creation or cultural mandate, in the image of God, which is to give of Himself. With all diligence, we use the capital that God has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit._
_The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into its full effect when the Messiah returns. As we prayerfully await His return, we reach out to an audience that is rejecting God but with boldness and love._
_In the eternal kingdom of Jesus, we will continue with the theme of having dominion, which was our theme here on earth. We will be assigned roles and responsibilities, depending upon the results that we produced here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
After the Lord taught the multitude, the parable of the sower. He let them think over and seek to know the meaning of the parable.
_Mark 4:9 And He said to them, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"_
It was only a minority that sought to know the meaning of the parable.
_Mark 4:10-11 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable._ He commended the small group for having the passion to know the deeper meaning of the parable.
_(11) And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables,_
Those who are not seeking, those who do not have passion for the deeper things of God, will be left in a state of unawareness and even the little understanding that they have in them will begin to fade away.
_Matthew 13:10-16 And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?" (11) He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given._
Though we know that the Lord longs for man to be saved, yet, at the same time, we see that those who do not desire the treasures of the kingdom of God will be left unfilled.
_(12) For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. (13) Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand._
_(14) And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'HEARING YOU WILL HEAR AND SHALL NOT UNDERSTAND, AND SEEING YOU WILL SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE; (15) FOR THE HEARTS OF THIS PEOPLE HAVE GROWN DULL. THEIR EARS ARE HARD OF HEARING, AND THEIR EYES THEY HAVE CLOSED, LEST THEY SHOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, LEST THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEARTS AND TURN, SO THAT I SHOULD HEAL THEM.'_
_(16) But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;_
The Lord judged that the third servant did not deserve even the one mina that was given him since he did not value the investment made in him.
That mina went to the one who already had ten minas, for He was the one whom God approved.
*To everyone who has, will be given.*
*Thought to ponder*
```May we be driven by the judgments of God.```
