LUKE 19 11-27 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 26 Screening and recruiting
04Jan2021 - *Screening and recruiting* - _Luke 19:11-27_ - TO EVERYONE WHO HAS, WILL BE GIVEN 26 – Bible reading: _Matthew 25:20-21_
_Luke 19:24-26 “And he said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.' (25) (But they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas.') (26) 'For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him._
God’s ways are the ways of abundance. To the one who is zealous for the things of God and is faithful, more of the things of God will be bestowed.
_Mark 4:23-25 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." (24) Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. (25) For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
The King is setting up His kingdom and He is looking for faithful and efficient servants, who will shoulder the responsibility with Him in ruling the kingdom which is to come.
This is the big picture that the church needs to have as we consider our time here on earth. Our time here on earth is recruitment and preparation time for identifying and selecting suitable co-rulers with Jesus, in His eternal kingdom.
Our purpose statement that we have been drafting, becomes relevant and meaningful as we participate in the larger purposes of God.
_We are citizens of the kingdom of God here on earth, redeemed and reconciled back to God, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This world is being driven by the evil one, through man, who has become his prisoner._
_We, citizens of the kingdom of God, live and work, fulfilling all the elements of the creation or cultural mandate, in the image of God, which is to give of Himself._
_With all diligence and zeal, we use the capital that God has invested us with, in the enablement and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We are conscious that as we produce kingdom growth with the investment that God has placed in us, our abilities too, grow proportionally._
_The kingdom of God has already begun, which will come into its full effect when the Messiah returns. As we prayerfully await His return, we reach out to an audience that is rejecting God but with boldness and love. When the Lord returns, those who refused to submit to the rule of God, here on earth, will be punished._
_In the eternal kingdom of Jesus, we will continue with the theme of having dominion, which was our theme here on earth. We will be assigned roles and responsibilities in the age which is to come, depending upon the results that we produced here on earth, with the capital that God has invested in each of us._
Consider the way the Lord is choosing and recruiting His co-workers in the age which is to come.
_Luke 19:16-17 Then came the first, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned ten minas.' (17) And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.'_
This servant, who was faithful and efficient with one mina is now bequeathed with the responsibility to have authority over ten cities. Look at the comparison between the work that we do here on earth with the role and responsibility which we will need to rule over, in the age which is to come.
Our work here is very small in comparison to the work that awaits us in God’s eternal kingdom. How well would we need to take responsibility for the work that has been entrusted to us now, considering that this is a test experience, as a recruiting and preparation process, in the rule of Jesus?
_Matthew 25:20-21 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' (21) His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, *I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord*.'
The joy of the Lord is the age which is to come, where we will be rulers with Him holding high levels of responsibility.
*Thought to ponder*
```The Bible encourages us to set our mind on things above… on the bigger picture of God.```
