Luke 16:18 “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery._

Some of us may not have had or may not be having a pleasant marriage experience. There could be other situations that we may be going through in life, in relation to marriage. Whatever may be the circumstance God is showing us that we need not hide or deny our weaknesses, for as we acknowledge and confront them, God converts our weakness into a strength. _II Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong._ God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. As we accept and surrender our weaknesses to the Lord, the power of Christ begins to rest on us. When we are weak then we are actually strong in Jesus.

We are _Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones._ The Lord has made us, the church, to be His bride. _Ephesians 5:31-32 “FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." (32) This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church._

The sexual experience is given exclusively to the husband and his wife for it demonstrates faithfulness of the church to her husband, Jesus Christ. _Genesis 2:24-25 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (25) And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed._

God does not tolerate any form of sexual immorality for this reason that the sexual experience, exclusively between husband and his wife, establishes faithfulness in their marriage and faithfulness is the bedrock of the relationship between Christ and the church.

_I Corinthians 6:15-17 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! (16) Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "THE TWO," He says, "SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." (17) But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. I Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband._

God has betrothed us to Him in faithfulness. _Hosea 2:20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the LORD_

We all do experience sexual temptations in different ways but God has given us His Holy Spirit, in whom we can overcome the lust of the flesh _Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh._ Reckoning that the old man is dead with Christ _Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin._

The example of young Joseph, living far away from his family, experiencing all the sexual urges that any young man would have had and the wife of Potiphar tempting him day after day, is an encouragement for us to live victoriously over sexual temptations. _Genesis 39:9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because *you are his wife*. How then can I do this great wickedness, and *sin against God*?"_

*Thought to ponder*

The devil persistently attacks marriage but yet the Lord gives us this delightful relationship of marriage to experience for His glory.
