Luke 11 33-36 Light of our world Light of our world 6
*God’s word brings light* _Luke 11:33-36_
God’s desire for us is that our whole person must be full of light. There should be no part, dark in us _ Luke 11:36._ How can we experience our whole person being full of light? Jesus is the light.
The first essential to have God’s light, Jesus, in our whole person is to let His word change us in every area of our lives. The lamp or the light of our person is the eye, which we have said is our understanding, perception, reasoning, mind or world view. It is the word of God that gives us understanding _Proverbs 2:6._
It is God’s word which is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path _Psalm 119:105._ What this means is that our everyday life is lived out by God’s word. God’s word must be our constant conversation, interpretation, application and our life. It is as we live by His word that our understanding changes. Our understanding changes to such an extent that we are able to confront the ideologies of our world. We are able to challenge those precepts and ways that have been practised from ancient times. We are able to see far ahead of our times. All of these happenings become our reality since we are keeping His word _Psalm 119:97-101/119:130._
If we are not living out the application of God’s word and if this is not what we are teaching and training others, then we are still babes before God, who need daily feeding _Hebrews 5:12._ Babes or the immature ones before God are those, who are not skilled in the application of God’s word into their life. They are not demonstrators of God’s word. The word is not becoming flesh in them. They are theoreticians and not practitioners _Hebrews 5:13. Friend, where would you place yourself, a theoretician or a practitioner?_
The mature ones before God are those, who *by reason of use* have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil _Hebrews 5:14._
*Thought to ponder*
```God’s word, lived out through us, is the lamp on the lamp stand.```
