Luke 11 33-36 Light of our world Light of our world 7
*Spiritual lifestyle* _Luke 11:33-36_
Our whole body must be full of light _Luke 11:36._ This is our Lord’s expectation for each of us. There can be no place dark in our lives. Yesterday, we said that the first essential to make this a reality is the word of God. The Word of God must penetrate every nook and cranny of our lives. Our thoughts, words, behaviour, relationships, attitudes, managing of our time and other resources, managing of our body and all the gifts and potentials that God has given us, every area of our life must come under the authority of God’s word _Hebrews 5:12-14._
How will the word of God be brought alive into our lives? This is the work of the Holy Spirit. The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord _Proverbs 20:27/I Corinthians 2:11._ The spirit of the man needs to be empowered by God’s word in order for the spirit in us, to be the lamp of the Lord. It is God’s Holy Spirit, who knows the things that are in the heart of God.
*We therefore need to give full access of our lives to the Holy Spirit, in order for the Holy Spirit to take what is in the heart of God and bring it alive to our spirits, so that our spirits will the lamp of God in us.*
God’s word must dwell in us richly by the fullness of the Holy Spirit, so that we spiritually admonish and teach one another in the body of Christ, so as to build each other up, in Christ _Colossians 3:16._ Paul compares this filling of the Holy Spirit to being drunk with wine. It is an experience that some of us hesitate about but there is nothing to fear, for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and we, in the body of Christ will build each other up, to be always thankful to our Lord _Ephesians 5:18-20._
God’s words are spirit and they are life and it is the Holy Spirit, who gives life _John 6:63._
Our Lord has much for us to experience in Him, which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of a man the things which God has prepared for those who love him but God has revealed them to us through His Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit searches all the deep things of God and He, the Holy Spirit takes from the heart of God and brings it alive to our spirits. Now, if we are not intentionally being filled with the Holy Spirit and allowing the Holy Spirit to engage with our spirits, there is another spirit that will engage with our spirits and that is the spirit of the world or the flesh.
There is no neutral ground in this walk. We are either being engaged with the fullness of the Holy Spirit, but if we are not, then we will be led by the spirit of world/the flesh.
The natural man or the person being engaged by the spirit of the world/the flesh, will not discern the things of the Spirit of God _I Corinthians 2:9-14._
It is the word of God and the Spirit of God, who make our whole body to be full of light.
*Thought to ponder*
```Are we ready to be the light of the world?```
