LUKE 19 28-40 BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD 10 Are we at the disposal of the King

📖 Luke 19:28-40
9th Mar 26 | 13:18

17Jan2021 - *Are we at the disposal of the King?* - _Luke 19:28-40_ - BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD 10 – Bible reading: _Philippians 3:8-11_

_Luke 19:30-31 saying, "Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here.  (31) And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you loosing it?' thus you shall say to him, *'Because the Lord has need of it*.' "_

The Lord sent the disciples to get the donkey, for Him to ride on and enter Jerusalem. The answer the disciples were to give to those who would ask as to why they were taking the donkey was, “'Because the Lord has need of it”

This statement, *Because the Lord has need of it*, communicates a crucial message in our relationship with the King. The Lord has the need for each of us for His purpose and our response has to be that we are at His disposal. I will go to the extent to say, we are at the Beck and call of the King.

All things in creation have been created through Jesus and for Him.

_“Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. *All things were created through Him and for Him*._

All of creation has to be at His disposal. That is how we need to see ourselves. We and all that God has provided in our care, are to be at the disposal of Jesus. He has full authority over us. It is not we, who has the rights over ourselves and all the resources, but the Lord.

Do we see ourselves in this manner, in our walk with Jesus?

_Psalm 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, *The world and those who dwell therein*._

Let us observe the life of Paul as he made himself fully available to the King to be at His disposal.

_Act 22:6-10 “Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me. (7)

And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' (8) So I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.' (9)

"And those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they did not hear the voice of Him who spoke to me. (10) *So I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?'* And the Lord said to me, 'Arise and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all things which are appointed for you to do.'_

The response from Paul as the Lord met with Him on the Damascus road was, *'What shall I do, Lord?'*.

This is the response that needs to come out from each of us as we relate with Jesus. It is a response of saying, “Lord I’m available for you, I am at your disposal”.

Ananias was sent to Paul to communicate God’s message to him. The message of God to Paul was that he, Paul, will need to expect suffering in being available to the King.

_Act 9:15-16 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. (16) For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake."_

The Lord is making it clear to us that His journey is to the cross and that is where we too will need to follow Him when we say we are at His disposal.

_Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (17) and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together._

We like to hear that we are heirs of God but in being available to God, what we will have to also undergo is suffering and then we will be glorified with Him.

_II Timothy 2:11-13 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: (12) *If we suffer, we shall also reign with him*: if we deny him, he also will deny us: (13) If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.(KJV)_

Paul made himself to be available at the disposal of God and the Lord led Him to be His instrument.

_Acts 26:16-19 But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. (17) I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, (18) to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' (19) "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,_

Paul’s entire life was about being available to God.

_Philippians 3:8-11 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ (9) and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; (10) that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, (11) if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead._

Paul was willing to follow Jesus to the cross.

*Thought to ponder*

```As the donkey and it’s owners were available for the use of the King, are you at His disposal?```
