Luke 11 37-54 Repenting from hypocrisy Woe 5
*Recreated in Christ* _Luke 11:37-54_
Our Lord was confronting the Pharisees, scribes and lawyers of the hypocrisy of their so called purification and religiosity. He was addressing them head-on, on the issues of their superficiality.
The Lord called these religious leaders as, ‘foolish ones’. That label with which He addressed them must have truly infuriated them. They saw Jesus as a simple carpenter from Nazareth but they did not realise that they were facing the God of heaven and earth, the creator God, the one who stretched out the heaven and had laid the foundations of the earth. He was the one, who formed them and He had every right to address the issues that were causing a failure in their life, which they were not even conscious about. He saw that was there was darkness in their spirits _Zechariah 12:1. Friends, God sees our spirits, to see if there is health and wholeness there._
God fashions each of our hearts and He considers all our works _Psalms 33:15._ He probes our works to see the spirit of our hearts behind all that we say and do. He knows if we are driven by our old nature or are we seeking God’s healing and intervention, in our spirits.
If we are to experience this life in Jesus, we cannot continue in the old man, the old nature. We are only made alive, when we die to the old man _I Corinthians 15:36._ The old man must be crucified with Christ. The self can no longer be allowed to live. Every time, the Holy Spirit alerts us about the old nature coming up from within us and that we are leaning towards speaking/behaving/living by the old nature, we need to take the self to the cross by faith, instantly. As we do, a miracle happens, the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus in us _Galatians 2:20/Romans 6:6._ Without the dying of the old man, the new man, who is Jesus, cannot come alive in us. _Very sadly, many of us are trying to please God by the flesh, by our old man._ This is not possible _Romans 8:5-8._
Our boast is just one, the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to us, and we to the world _Galatians 6:14._
*Thought to ponder*
```The cross of our Lord Jesus is our identification.```
