06 – 18May2022 – Strengthened by the Lord - Luke 24:50-53 - THE BLESSING OF GOD - Bible reading: II Corinthians 12:9-10

“Thank You, Lord Jesus, that we are able to understand a little more of Your grace. We are also privileged to experience Your grace in our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen”.

Luke 24:50-51 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. (51) Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.

As the Lord ascended to heaven, He blessed the disciples. We continue to look at the Aaronic blessing.

Numbers 6:25 The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

We will gaze a little more at God’s grace.

II Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Apostle Paul is able to explore the blessing of God’s grace. He takes pleasure in difficulties, for Christ’s sake. This is an extreme position but this is the wonder of His grace. God’s grace is such that we can rejoice in our troubles, for when we are weak then we are strong.

Whatever may be the challenges that confront us in life, in Christ, we are strong. This is the secret of His grace that the Lord longs for us to know.

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. (30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, (31) But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

This experience of God’s grace becomes a reality in us when we wait on the Lord.

The devil’s strategy is to make us nervous and fret. This is why many of us are not experiencing this application of God’s grace, that when we are weak then we are strong. We are not waiting on the Lord.

Ask the Lord to teach you, to wait upon Him. They that wait on the Lord shall be strengthened.

Daniel 10:18-19 Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me. (19) And he said, "O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!" So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."

The Lord strengthens us through His word. We must be intentional with God’s word, for His word is our nourishment. Let us shift our diet from the ways of the world to the Scriptures. Whatever the world may say, let us tell the world, “Sorry, I will feed on God’s word”. This is the application of God’s grace.

Ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

We have discussed this matter that the grace of God subdues our iniquities. It is in the inner man that we see the anointment of God’s grace. We are victorious in the inner man, where earlier we were struggling because we are trying in our human strength to overcome our temptations.

Colossians 1:11-12 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; (12) giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

There is a great inheritance that awaits us but the Lord must first qualify us to be partakers of that inheritance of the saints. This qualification happens, when by His grace we are able to absorb with patience, all our everyday challenges in life, with joy.

Many Christians seem to be only surviving their daily lives. This is not the plan of God. Yes, there are daily trials, but in all of them, the Lord by His grace enables us to be joyous. This is how He qualifies us.

Isaiah 41:15-16 "Behold, I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, And make the hills like chaff. (16) You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the LORD, And glory in the Holy One of Israel.

We are to go into warfare against our enemy, the devil, who is ruling this world and all of creation, which are God’s. We were created to be the vice-regents of God over His creation, but we became vassals of the devil. The Lord, by His grace, is empowering us to be mighty in Him to break the bonds of the enemy and bring the victory of Jesus, in all spheres of life.

II Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

This is the grace of God that enables us to be warriors to win the battle against the devil and his agenda over the world.

Thought to ponder

Trust you are living in the fullness of His grace?
