*Persistence for the Holy Spirit* _Luke 11:5-13_

Do we have a longing to walk with God? To do His will? Is that the greatest desire for us? _It has to be friends, not a desire for God to solve our problems or set things right in our lives or meet a certain need or take away a pain that we are undergoing or give answers to all the unanswered questions in our lives._

It is the Holy Spirit who enables us to walk with God and that is why we persist with God for His Holy Spirit _Luke 11:13._

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive. We live in a world of falsehood because the world system is under the control of satan, who is a liar _I John 5:19/John 8:44._ When we look within ourselves, we often are clouded by doubt and uncertainty. It is the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth _John 14:17/16:13._

In the Holy Spirit, we know that we belong to the family of God. The sense of belongingness to the family of God, gives us great joy and confidence _John 14:18._ It is because God lives, we too are truly alive. This is our answer to people, who ask us of the hope that is in us. Our answer is, God is alive because He is alive in me and the only way the other person will also know this reality is when that person too will believe and receive God into his or her life, by the Holy Spirit _John 14:19._

He, the Holy Spirit enables us to keep God’s word, which is the sum and substance of our everyday life. As we live by His word, the triune God, make their residence in us _John 14:20-23._ He the Holy Spirit is our Helper, Counsellor, Comforter and our Advocate, who will bring to our remembrance, at appropriate times, the words of God and will teach us and also enable us in the application of God’s word _John 14:26._ We, therefore, cannot give an excuse that we were kept in the dark, in particular situations, regarding the word or the will of God.

*Thought to ponder*

```Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?```
