Luke 11 5-13 Persistent prayer Persistent prayer 6
*God makes us complete by faith in Him* _Luke 11:5-13_
God longs for us to grow in our faith in Him. It is in Christ that we are complete before God. So, our longing, our persistence, has to be, to grow more and more into Christ, _Is that how it is with you? Are you longing to grow more and more into Christ, by faith in Him?_
God uses the method of trials in order to increase and purify our faith in Him. We therefore greatly rejoice, in the midst of the trials that come our way, for we are growing in Christ by our faith in Him. The genuineness of our faith in Christ is what will bring praise, glory and honour, when our Lord returns _I Peter 1:6-7._
We love Jesus, though we do not see Him and we rejoice with joy, inexpressible, for all glory and honour goes to Jesus Christ _I Peter 1:8. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen._
The process of us growing in our faith in Christ begins with trials but ends in us being a display of God’s character _Isaiah 62:3._ Our completeness or our maturity is never by ourselves, it is always in Christ, yet at the same time, God takes us, as pieces of clay in His hands and shapes us into the character of Christ. We therefore count it all joy, when we fall into various trials _James 1:2-4._ We persist in our faith walk in Christ.
We have been justified before God because we put our trust in Jesus. It is Jesus, who gives us our justification and our righteousness before God and this we always appropriate by faith in Christ, never by ourselves. We therefore stand, rejoicing, in presence of God because we stand by the grace of God on us, hoping for the glory of God _Romans 5:1-2._
We also glory in tribulation, knowing that God has not left us to ourselves because we are now justified before God by faith but rather, shapes our character. Our faith in God in the midst of trials produces perseverance or patience and perseverance, in our faith in Christ, produces Christ’ character in us. Let us always keep in mind that before God, we are complete, justified and righteous because of our faith in Christ.
The character of Christ is love. Therefore, through trials and as we trust Jesus, the character of Christ, which is God’s love, is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This is the big change that God is producing in us, which is to love God and man, unconditionally.
_Will we persevere in our faith in Christ?_
*Thought to ponder*
_Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!_
