Luke 13 10-17 The nature of Christ 02 Word of God brings deliverance
02Oct19 - *Word of God brings deliverance*_Luke 13:10-13_ - Bible reading: _I Thessalonians 2:13_
_Luke 13:10-13 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. (11) And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. (12) But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." (13) And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God._
Yesterday, we saw that as the church, we are to connect with those who are hurting around us and bring deliverance into their life.
What is the process of deliverance? God's word brings healing and deliverance. _Jesus called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." Luke 13:12_ Just as Jesus pronounced healing to her, we too, as the church, are to pronounce healing into the lives of people, who are hurting around us. Our Lord has assured us that _“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12_
Let us be conscious that _It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63_ The words of God are spirit and they are life. When we speak God’s word into the life of people, there is deliverance.
Paul explains this principle to the Thessalonian church that they had welcomed the word of God from the apostles, which was now effectively working in them because of their belief. _I Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe._
It is God’s word that the church must exercise into the lives of hurting people, in order to deliver them.
The Lord brought instantaneous healing in the body of this woman. This may not happen in the same way, when we speak God’s word into the lives of people but we must be assured that they will be surely delivered from the grip of the evil one. _Luke 13:13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God._
She being was made straight was just one part of the miracle. She glorified God was the bigger miracle because was kept in bondage by a spirit of infirmity. That bondage was broken and she glorified God
*Thought to ponder*
```The devil does not want the church to exercise the word of God and bring deliverance to the hurting.```
