Luke 13 10-17 The nature of Christ 06 Changed perspectives
06Oct19 - *Changed perspectives* _Luke 13:10-17_ Bible reading: _John 7:21-24_
_Luke 13:14-17 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day." (15) The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? (16) So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" (17) And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him._
The ruler of the synagogue was indignant for the wrong reason. The Lord called him a hypocrite.
Our Lord longs to nurture us by drawing us close to Himself but we must be willing to put aside our pride and our foolish perspectives to life and accept the perspectives of God. The Lord loves us but is also angry with us, when we remain in our rigid perspectives and are not willing to live by the perspectives of God.
Let us not be like the ruler of synagogue. Let us come to Jesus, like a little child, and ask the Lord to help us put aside all out foolishness and receive with simpleness, the ways of God. We have wasted too much time in our foolishness, like this ruler of the synagogue, and let us turn whole heartedly to Him to be nurtured by Him in His ways.
_John 7:21-24_ Jesus answered and said to them, "I did one work, and you all marvel. (22) Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. (23) If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? (24) Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."_
