15Oct19 - The fullness of His kingdom through the way of the cross - _Luke 13:22-30_ - Bible reading: _Luke 24:25-27_

_Luke 13:22 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem._

Jesus was set to go to Jerusalem, for it would be there that His kingdom would have its entrance.

We see this confirmed for us post crucifixion too, when the women went with spices to anoint the body of Jesus. They surely did not believe that He would physically rise again. To them all of this would be somewhere in the future but here is the key for us to understand the cross, the resurrection and the entrance into His kingdom. The kingdom of Jesus would begin with His crucifixion, burial and His resurrection.

This is what the angels told the women. _Luke 24:5-7 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, (7) saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' "_ The kingdom is a place for the living and not the dead.

Then we see the conversation of the two disciples too, on the road to Emmaus. They had witnessed the crucifixion and had also heard the report of the ladies. They had heard Jesus, preparing them for His crucifixion, burial and His resurrection. Yet they had not believed Him regarding His kingdom. This is why the Lord rebukes them and then He connects it all for them, towards His kingdom. _Luke 24:25-27 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! (26) Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" (27) And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself._

*Thought to ponder*

```Do we see the large picture of His kingdom?```
