Luke 21 10-19 WATCH AND PRAY II 02 Luke 21 10-11 God’s instruments in the end times
12May2021 - *God’s instruments in the end times* - _Luke 21:10-19_ - WATCH AND PRAY II (2) – Bible reading: _Hebrews 12:25-29_
God wants man to be saved and not perish. We must understand being saved and not to perish, is about being saved and not perishing in hell, which is for those who reject Christ, who is the Way for man to be reconciled with God.
God is preparing a new heaven and a new earth. The Lord is longing for everyone to come into that new kingdom and to spend eternity with Him. These calamities and frightening experiences that we are going through are God’s way to jolt man forcefully to repent, turn to Him and be ‘saved’.
Even though is man is having to undergo the turmoil of these day, yet man is refusing to return to God. Man is still working out his own plans to handle the crisis. This is the last opportunity for man to repent and return to God before the final whistle is blown and everything comes to a stop. Once man crosses the threshold into eternity, then there is no more the prospect for men to repent. Now is the time.
The church is not yet taking on the pain of God’s heart, seriously. We are only giving lip service. We are fasting, praying and pleading with God to take away the pandemic. We are worried only for ourselves.
Praise God there are pockets of those, who are beginning to see the light. These are taking on the pain of God’s heart. They are not worried about their own protection, or healing or even being kept from death but are crying and repenting on behalf of the nation before God. They are urging people to call on the name of the Lord and be saved. I hope you are a part of this minority?
_Luke 21:10-11 Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. (11) And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven._
Through all of these pestilences and signs of the end times, *the Lord God is speaking from heaven*
_Hebrews 12:25-29 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, *much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven*, (26) whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO HEAVEN." (27) Now this, "YET ONCE MORE," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. (28) Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, *let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear*. (29) For our God is a consuming fire._
Our God, right now, is one who will graciously forgive and accept all those who repent and return to Him but once we step off the edge into eternity, God will be a consuming fire.
The church needs to realise that if God has put breath in our nostrils, today, it is to be one with God in His sorrow, repent on behalf of our people and reach out to those around us that they will call on the name of the Lord and be saved.
_Revelation 5:2-3 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" (3) And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it._
John was in deep anguish that there was no one able to open the scroll and loose the seals. Then Jesus prevailed and He was able to open the seals.
_Revelation 5:5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."_
_Revelation 6:1-2 Now I saw when the Lamb opened *one of the seals*; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." (2) And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer._
Let us understand about the white horse when one of the seals was opened.
_Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. (12) His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. (13) He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. (14) And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. (15) Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (16) And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS._
Let us now see what happens when the other seals are opened.
_(3-8) When He opened *the second seal*, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." (4) Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to *take peace from the earth*, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword._
_(5) When He opened *the third seal*, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had *a pair of scales in his hand*. (6) And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."_
_(7) When He opened *the fourth seal*, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." (8) So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, *to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth*._
We can see for ourselves how all of these descriptions given in scripture is applicable to our current times. All of these are the ways by which God is shaking man vehemently to repent, return to Him and be saved from His wrath. God is a consuming fire.
If the church does not take on the pain of God’s heart and fulfil the end time responsibility that is clearly set before us, then on the judgment day, we will have to give an account for our self-centred conduct.
*Thought to ponder*
```If we do not cry out to the world now, then the world will ask us, on that day, why we did not cry out to them.```
