_Luke 15:13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living._
The younger son had grown up in the loving atmosphere of his father’s home but yet he wanted to go his own way. He would have surely known that the way he was choosing to go, would only cause him misery but how was it that he chose to go in this direction of prodigal living?
This is what will happen, when we do not apply the word of God into our lives. Many of us, hear much and we even claim to know much, about the ways of God, but the reality is that we bring very little of God’s word into application. When we do not apply the word of God, by His strength, into our everyday lives, delusion will set in and we will soon be making several wrong choices and decisions in life.
We end up living dual lives, one that comprises of all our ‘spiritual matters’ and the other is how we live our day to day lives. In our everyday lives, we bring very little of God’s word into application. We live by the standards of the world.
_II Thessalonians 2:11-12 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (12) that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness._ Delusion will set in, when we do not live by the truth.
_Romans 1:21-22 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. (22) Professing to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;_
When people face painful consequences because of not living in God’s ways, their mind becomes clouded. All that they want is a solution to their predicament but not to return to God’s ways. _Jeremiah 2:17 Have you not brought this on yourself, In that you have forsaken the LORD your God When He led you in the way?_
God’s word for us today is to *submit to God’s ways*. _Proverbs 23:19 Hear, my son, and be wise; And guide your heart in the way._
