_Luke 15:22-24 “But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. (23) And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; (24) for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry._
The son had returned home and the father was lavishing his grace on him. There were three items that the son received. He received the best robe, a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. We have considered the best robe. We will now look at the ring.
The ring on his hand represented authority. This authority was of the father, which he has because of being a son. He had this authority once, but he threw it away. When he came back, the father gives him back the authority, by his grace.
_Genesis 41:42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph's hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck._ When Pharaoh gave his ring to Joseph, it did not mean that Pharaoh was no more in authority. It meant that now Joseph could take charge of affairs in Egypt, on behalf of Pharaoh, with Pharaoh’s delegated authority.
This is what we receive, when we come back to God. God once again reinstates us to be His regents and viceroys over all of His creation.
_Haggai 2:21-23 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: 'I will shake heaven and earth. (22) I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots And those who ride in them; The horses and their riders shall come down, Every one by the sword of his brother. (23) 'In that day,' says the LORD of hosts, 'I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,' says the LORD, 'and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,' says the LORD of hosts._
God has chosen us but it He who will shake the kingdoms of darkness through us. Satan is ruling but we are sent into the world to overthrow the throne of the kingdoms of darkness, with the authority of our Father. _Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."_
We need not feat the enemy since he has been defeated by Jesus on the cross and we have come to God by faith in the Jesus. We are now the children of God and we can call God as Father.
_Ephesians 1:20-23 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, (21) far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. (22) And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, (23) which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all._
Jesus has been raised far above all rule and authority and His fullness fills the church. We, the church, are a full expression of the rule and authority of Christ. The keys of the kingdom of God has been given to the church. _Matthew 16: 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."_ and we are sent out into all the world with the authority of Jesus. _Matthew 28:18-19 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,_
