10Mar2020 - *Celebration here on earth and in heaven* - _Luke 15:11-32_ - Bible reading: _John 5:24-25_

_Luke 15:22-24 “But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. (23) And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; (24) for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry._

The celebration now begins. The father gives the reason for the celebration. “…my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found”. Talking to his elder son, later in the parable, the father repeats the same reason for the celebration _(vs 32)_.

It is in Jesus that we have life, which is why we celebrate continuously. _John 5:24-25 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (25) Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live._

How is it possible for the dead to hear, for they are dead? This is possible, for the death that we are discussing is not the physical death of man but the true death, where man is dead because of the blindfold and ear plugs that satan has placed on him.

Which then requires that when we seek to bring a person from death to life, we must engage with the powers of darkness that are holding that person in captivity. When people’s eyes and ears are opened by the Holy Spirit, they will hear the Son of God and they shall live.

In Christ is life. _Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. John 5:26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, I Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, "THE FIRST MAN ADAM BECAME A LIVING BEING." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. I John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (12) He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death._

Celebration of the life of God in us is our heritage. _Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Jeremiah 31:12-14 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the LORD For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all. (13) "Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow. (14) I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD."_

We are celebrating individually as we live the life of Christ. We are celebrating as the body of Christ, here on the earth, as we live out, corporately, the life of Christ. There is rejoicing and celebration in heaven for people are passing from death to life.

*Thought to ponder*

```When Christians, both individually as well as, as the church, are living out a dry and defeated existence, then it is obvious that they are not living out the life of Christ, which is their inheritance.```
