Luke 15 8-10 To seek and to save the lost - part II The lost coin 02 Jesus is the light
06Feb2020 - *Jesus is the light* - _Luke 15:8-10_ - Bible reading: _I John 1:5-7_
We have now begun with the second parable in Luke 15. _Luke 15:8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?_
Yesterday, we looked at the thought that the woman began with 10 silver coins. We began with God, who had made all things well and complete.
One coin was lost and this relates to man being lost. The whole of creation too is languishing because man is not fulfilling his responsibility of a regent/viceroy of God’s creation. God’s heart is breaking over His creation and He is on the task seeking to bring man and all of creation back into a relationship with Him.
_II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish._
To search out her lost coin, the woman lights a lamp. God is light. _I John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all._
If anyone is not in an intimate relationship with God, then that person is in darkness. _John 11:10 But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him." I John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin._
The solution for man’s darkness is the light of Jesus. Nothing else can restore man, except the light of Jesus. _Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you._
Though man knows that Jesus is the light, yet man chooses to remain in his darkness. _John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil._
Man prefers the darkness. For us as His people, we too must seek to constantly be in the light of Jesus and allow Him to penetrate every nook and corner of our lives. For is we are not in the light of Jesus, then we too are in darkness.
*Thought to ponder*
```Are you being filled with the light of Jesus? Only when we are full of the light of Jesus, will we be able to bring people out of darkness, to the light.```
