*FRIEND OF GOD*

Thu24Jun2021 - *To be glorified in His saints* - _Luke 21:34-38_ - WATCH AND PRAY VI (04) – Bible reading: _II Thessalonians 1:10-12_

The Holy Spirit is the one who is empowering and leading us. We are to give ourselves fully to the disposal of the Holy Spirit, for Him to possess us. We know that out of our flesh we cannot please God. It is only in the Holy Spirit that we can meet the expectations of God and bring Him glory.

As we enjoy this experience here on earth, we are assured that when we meet the Lord and stand before Him, our lives will bring glory to Him. *He will be glorified in His saints*.

_Luke 21:36 *Watch therefore, and pray always* that *you may be counted worthy* to escape all these things that will come to pass, and *to stand before the Son of Man*."_

The Lord’s desire for us is that we will escape from the end time traps that the devil lays for us and stand before Jesus. *Our task is to watch and pray*.

_II Thessalonians 1:10-12 *when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe*, because our testimony among you was believed. (11) Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, (12) that *the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him*, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ._

The aim for us, as His people, is to be made ready to stand in His presence, when He returns and *that He should be glorified in the saints and we too to be glorified in Him*.

*The Lord should count each of us and the church as a whole, to be worthy of His calling upon us*. He should fulfil all the good pleasure of His goodness in us by faith with power. This is the work that we desire to press on with at this time so that we do not miss out in any way to be made ready for His coming.

_Ephesians 1:12 that we who first trusted in Christ *should be to the praise of His glory*._

This is truly our aim, that we who trusted in Christ should be the *to praise of His glory*.

Whatever we do, we do it for His name, that is how we are preparing ourselves to meet Him. If our lives do not lift the name of Jesus, now, then we are using the name of the Lord in vain. The name of Jesus ought not to be tarnished because of us but be lifted up and magnified.

_Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him._

This work of lifting up the name of Jesus is done in us by the power of God and we are being made ready for our Lord’s returns. Without the work of the Holy Spirit in us, this preparation cannot be accomplished.

_I Peter 1:5-7 who *are kept by the power of God* through faith for salvation *ready to be revealed in the last time*. (6) In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, (7) that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,_

This work that the Lord does in us, takes us through difficult events but these experiences are the times of processing and healing that the Lord does in us. We, therefore, welcome and embrace these happenings for they are producing in us results that will bring Him praise, glory and honour when He returns.

When He returns, we will reflect Him. *We will demonstrate how much change has happened in us that has made us be conformed to His image and character*. He will then be glorified in us.

_I Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both *bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts*. *Then each one's praise will come from God*._

The Lord is changing us internally, in our thoughts and in our motives. Even the hidden things of darkness in our lives will be revealed and then our lives will bring glory to God, for it will be made known, how much we have been corrected, changed and conformed to His image and character, in the inner man.

_Matthew 25:21 His lord said to him, '*Well done, good and faithful servant*; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. *Enter into the joy of your lord*.'_

These are the words that we long to hear from the lips of our Lord when He returns. *The words, ‘well done, good and faithful servant’*.

*Thought to ponder*

```This life here on earth is only the training and preparation time for the main event of the fullness of His kingdom, where we will continue to rule with Christ.```
