Luke 14 7-11 Humility for His glory 04 Humility allows us to experience God's grace
26Nov19 - *Humility allows us to experience God's grace* - _Luke 14:7-11_ - Bible reading: _James 4:6_
_Luke 14:11 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."_
This is a kingdom principle. The world laughs and mocks at this principle but as His kingdom people, we must be rooted in this principle. We will look at some of the applications of the principle.
The first application that we examined yesterday was the principle of justification.
God intends to lift us up for His glory, not to promote ourselves. But for God to lift us up, it must happen out of the basis of humility.
Today, we will look at one more application of humility. God dwells with the one, who is humble. _Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones._
Since God dwells with the one, who is humble, that person also experiences God’s grace, which is God’s enablement. GRACE IS DIVINE ENABLEMENT.
How foolish it is, not to be operating out of God’s grace? Many of us are struggling in different areas of life, since we are trying in our own effort for victory. Victory is granted, when we operate out of God’s grace. If we are trying in our own merit, it is nothing but a manifestation of the self, and therefore we are not enjoying God’s justification. _James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."/ I Peter 5:5_
King Josiah experienced God’s grace because he was humble before God. _II Chronicles 34:27 because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you," says the LORD._
*Thought to ponder*
```All of life’s battles are won as we operate out of His grace```
