Luke 13 18-21 Experiencing His kingdom 01 Entrance into His kingdom
08Oct19 - *Entrance into His kingdom* - _Luke 13:18-21_ - Bible reading: _Hebrews 13:20-21_
_Luke 13:18-21 Then He said, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? (19) It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches." (20) And again He said, "To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? (21) It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened."_
Let us begin looking at this passage by once again reiterating that Jesus came to bring us the good news of His kingdom. We were once in the kingdom experience of Shalom in the garden of Eden but when we sinned, we died and thereby lost Shalom.
Jesus came to restore us to His kingdom and bring us back to Shalom. This is the good news. John the Baptist spoke of this in _Matthew 3:2._ Jesus confirmed this again and again in the following passages. He came preaching the good news of the kingdom of God - _Matthew 4:17, 23, 9:35, Mark 1:14-15, Lk 4:43-44._ He also trained His disciples on to the work of His kingdom _Luke 8:1, 9:1-2, 11, 10:11._
We must walk in His will in order to enter into His kingdom. _Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven._ This was the prayer of Epaphras for his own people from Colosse. _Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God._
The benediction in the book of Hebrews is about God’s will, to be worked out in our lives. _Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (21) make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen._
Finally, in _Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city._
*Thought to ponder*
```Is your life all about God’s will or is it your will that is being done?```
