ALL UNDER SIN

The theme verse for the book of Romans

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

All have fallen short of the glory of God

Romans 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned

Romans 11:32-36 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. (33) Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! (34) “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” (35) “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” (36) For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Man does not meet the righteousness of God

Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not none”

Psalms 14:1-3/ Psalms 53:1-3

Job 15:14 “What is man, that he could be pure? And he who is born of a woman, that he could be righteous?

Mark 7:20-23 And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. (21) For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, (22) thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. (23) All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

None are seeking God

Romans 3:11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.

Job 21:14-15 Yet they say to God, ‘Depart from us, For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways. (15) Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’

Isaiah 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!

They have turned aside, become unprofitable and none is good

Romans 3:12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Jeremiah 2:13 “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.

Matthew 25:24-30 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. (25) And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ (26) “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. (27) So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. (28) So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. (29) ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. (30) And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.

Mark 10:17-18 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (18) So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

Sin in the speech

Romans 3:13 “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”;

Psalms 5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is destruction; Their throat is an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.

Jeremiah 9:3 “And like their bow they have bent their tongues for lies. They are not valiant for the truth on the earth. For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me,” says the LORD.

James 3:5-8 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! (6) And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. (7) For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. (8) But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Psalms 140:2-3 Who plan evil things in their hearts; They continually gather together for war. (3) They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of asps is under their lips. Selah

Romans 3:14 “Whose mouth is full off cursing and bitterness.”

Psalms 10:7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity.

Hasty to do evil

Romans 3:15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;

Isaiah 59:7-8 Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths. (8) The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.

Romans 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;

Our present situation all over the world is sin. This was not how God created things to be.

They do not have the Shalom of God and being reconciled with God

Romans 3:17 And the way of peace they have not known.”

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Isaiah 59:8-11 The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace. (9) Therefore justice is far from us, Nor does righteousness overtake us; We look for light, but there is darkness! For brightness, but we walk in blackness! (10) We grope for the wall like the blind, And we grope as if we had no eyes; We stumble at noonday as at twilight; We are as dead men in desolate places. (11) We all growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We look for justice, but there is none; For salvation, but it is far from us.

Not fearing God

Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Proverbs 16:6 In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

Psalms 36:1-4 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the Servant of the Lord. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes. (2) For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates. (3) The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good. (4) He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.
